Make the most out of your first trip to Paris! This comprehensive itinerary will help you ensure you don’t miss anything – from must-see sights like Notre Dame Cathedral to delicious French cuisine.
There is always something to explore in this vibrant city
Paris has a way of captivating its visitors with its charm and beauty. From the majestic Notre Dame Cathedral to the breathtaking Eiffel Tower, Paris is where you can stargaze at night or taste wine during the day. Every corner offers something new and exciting; whether it’s unique street art or iconic landmarks like The Louvre Museum, there is always something to explore in this vibrant city.
Not only does Paris offer breathtaking sights but also delicious food! Whether you’re craving crepes on cobblestone streets or fresh seafood at one of its many bistros, there are endless options when it comes to dining out in Paris. As an avid foodie, enjoying some of Europe’s best cuisine while taking in all Paris offers is truly special! But what makes me fall head over heels for this city every time we visit is how alive it feels; from people watching along Champs Elysees Avenue or exploring secret gardens hidden within alleyways – each experience is unforgettable!
Get Stunning Views of Paris from the Eiffel Tower.
No trip to Paris is complete without getting a bird’s eye view from the top of the Eiffel Tower! Taking the elevator to the highest point of the iconic monument is a must, allowing you to admire all Paris offers from above. On a clear day, you can even see as far as the neighboring countries of Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg.
Visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the Latin Quarters.
Unmissable in Paris is the awe-inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral. Built in 1160 and still standing strong – albeit partially destroyed by fire in 2019 – Notre Dame is the epicenter of French Catholic belief and includes some of Europe’s most beautiful gothic architecture. On the other side of ‘Île de la Cité’, Montparnasse offers one of Paris’ oldest districts, known for its world-famous cafés, restaurants, and nightlife. Make sure to put aside a day to explore these historic parts!
Stay at The Latin Quarters
In my opinion, The Latin Quarter is the best tourist area to stay in Paris. Located in the lively 5th arrondissement, the Latin Quarter has some of Paris’s best attractions, including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Pantheon, and various open-air markets. It’s also close to some of Paris’s most popular nightlife spots and features many great restaurants and cafes.
Enjoy a Picnic in Monceau Park or Luxembourg Garden.
Nothing says vacation like a picnic in a park! Fortunately, Paris is full of them – and there are plenty to choose from. Suppose you’re into formal, French-style botanical gardens. In that case, Luxembourg Garden offers a rich experience with fountains and statues while Monceau Park is more wild and rustic, Perfect for peaceful strolls or romantic picnics. With their abundant greenery, these parks offer a great way to rest your feet after days spent discovering the city’s streets.
Explore the Marais District and Montmartre Neighborhoods.
Paris’s Marais and Montmartre neighborhoods offer some of the city’s unique sights, events, and attractions. The Marais district is known for its picturesque squares, idyllic streets, traditional Jewish bakeries, antique shops, and galleries. Meanwhile, Montmartre has narrow cobblestone lanes with quaint boutiques like the infamous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Not to mention breathtaking views from atop the majestic Sacré-Cœur Basilica!
Take a Fun Boat Ride on the Seine River.
One of the best ways to get a sense of Paris is to take a boat tour on the Seine River. As you drift along, you’ll pass some iconic sites like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Louvre Museum. During summer nights, boats also stop at venues along the river banks, where you can disembark and enjoy dinner or drinks. So hop aboard a sightseeing cruise ship and enjoy some of the city’s most famous sights from an entirely different perspective!
